The Panic Room – Olé Revolution – 7/10 – *Closing soon*
Gravesend, Kent.
The rating of this room does certainly not reflect the brilliant host we had.
You stormed the President’s palace. El Presidente has fled but will be back with reinforcements – in one hour. There are riots in the streets, demanding immediate reforms. Can you manage to win over the most influential people to your side, before the president returns? If not, you will be kicked out of the palace and arrested faster than you can say “Ay Caramba!”
Now it is up to you to seize power!
A revolutionary game design that allows you to vote on reforms and improve popularity. Are you able to draw all the influence groups on your side before El Presidente comes back with reinforcements? The clock is ticking…
Played – June 2018
This room starts in a pretty unique way and our host, Jack, guided us through the set up with pure swag and style. Genuinely a brilliant gamesmaster.
As the game synopsis says, this game is about voting and influence so is a little unusual in gameplay but does contain traditional puzzles that you would find in a standard escape room. Although there were several proper puzzles, I found this a bit heavy on the reading, hence the slightly lower score than other Panic Room rooms, but still a perfectly decent score.
Our team has a resident bossy boots and you do need one of those in this room. There are time pressures in there that are much tighter than usual and someone barking orders at you is helpful, no word of a lie.
On the whole we are purists, but if you fancy something a little different then this could be one for you.
