Played – February 2019

Wow, what can we say about that! Our host, Olly, who we also had back when Panic Room had The Gilman Hotel, was excellent. He set the scene well and played his part perfectly.

The start of the game is particularly strong. Although it’s not something that we haven’t come across before, for some reason it just worked better than the other experiences that we’ve had along that same vein. Unfortunately that’s really all we can say about that without giving away spoilers.

The design of the space used is also very clever and combines with the live actor to keep you immersed in the theme at all times.

As a group of 5 there were plenty of puzzles that required team work and we were all kept occupied throughout the experience.

The end of the game was a mixture of bemusing, funny, scary and a little painful. It was great though.

As the website says, there is crawling involved and unless you’re going with an adult the room is 15+, but as the team wimp I must say that despite screaming on more than one occasion and generally having anxiety before any live actor rooms, this was my favourite room of the day, probably because of the actor, so props again to Olly for that.

Theme/Immersion – 8.5
Puzzles/Variety – 7
