House of Tales – One Night in Hong Kong – 7.5/10
The Chinese mafia has quietly ruled the underworld for ages. A web of extortion and illegal trafficking spans across the Walled City. So far it has been your family in whose hands all threads ran together, but now a new triad announces the change of power.
Last night something was stolen from us. We are sure that the enemy triad is behind it. The honor of the Red Lotus is at stake!

We were due to visit Berlin in 2020, but then this thing happened and the whole world near enough locked down. But, we finally made it. A long weekend in Berlin to play some of the highest rated games per the enthusiast community.
The first game to kick us off was One Night in Hong Kong. What a fun game to start with. House of Tales have done such an amazing job fitting in what they have in such a small space, and there were some lovely surprises too.
The host kept in contact with us via phone, largely to carry on the story and update us when gang members were coming back.
The puzzles themselves were good enough, but not very thematic which did break immersion somewhat.
Before coming here, I’d read a review about this being a risqué 18+ room, then after we’d played I thought I must be mixing up my reviews. I’ve just double checked and turns out I wasn’t mistaken, so either they’ve removed all of that element or we’re just super unobservant.
Enjoyable game if you’re in the area. We’d recommend 2-4 players.
