What a lovely warm welcome we got at Escapement. They are lovely guys, with a passion for producing great games and great customer service to go along side it.

The intro to the game was fun and set us up nicely for the start of the game. In we went. Down into the pit. They’ve done a very good job of making you feel like you have genuinely descended into a pit and all the puzzles are very thematic. There’s nothing that doesn’t make sense to be there, which is something I really appreciate.

Part way through you need to move to another area of the mine and that… is… fun! It’s a lovely moment. Really. The second area has more, very on theme, puzzles and is somewhat story driven. The guys add some extra flavour, which adds to the game.

Finally, the ending. Even this has a little something we had never seen before. All in all, we had a lot of fun in The Pit, and a really good chat afterwards. We followed up with a second room on the day, and we’re eager to go back to try some more.

The Pit has a reputation amongst enthusiasts, and understandably so. It is a great room and could easily host 2-5 people without anyone getting bored. We all highly recommend this game.
